Preorders Are Open… and Yes, I’m Still Alive After Making This Book

Well, friends, it finally happened. After months of wrestling with chapters, formatting hell, learning Canva, bribing my computer to behave, and spending much too much time in front of a screen, the Birthsong Midwifery Workbook, 7th Edition is officially available for preorder.

This edition is bigger, clearer, smarter, and far more organized than anything I could have pulled off alone. That is thanks to my brilliant co-author Dana Moore, BSM, CPM, LM, who somehow managed to improve every chapter without once telling me to stop overwriting (even when she probably should have). Dana brought structure, clinical precision, and a sense of calm that kept this project from turning into a midwifery-themed Shakespearean tragedy.

What’s new in the 7th Edition?

  • updated clinical guidance
  • expanded herbal safety content
  • new illustrations
  • cultural traditions
  • hundreds of new study questions and exercises
  • a cleaner layout that no longer makes you whisper “why, ancestors, why?” while trying to find a chart

Release date: January 14, 2026.
(Yes, 2026 — the future is closer than it looks when you are editing.)

And here is the heart part:
Every preorder supports the nonprofit work of the Zaniyan Center, which promotes plants for health and a connection to the earth. Your preorder is not just a book purchase — it is a vote for community education, herbal traditions, and making good knowledge more accessible.

Thank you for reading, supporting, cheering me on, and coming to visit and getting me away from the computer. This book is better because of the people around me, and I am grateful you are part of that circle.

Now go preorder it so I can pretend all this gray hair was worth it.
